UPDATE:
Our NEXT FLY-IN is in a few weeks to SANTA YNEZ (IZA) on SUNDAY, June
16th.
IZA is an uncontrolled airport about 15 miles NW of Santa Barbara. It's
about a two hour flight.
You can take the coastal or inland route. Each has it's pros and cons.
The
coastal route might wet your feet and being above LAX it's less scenic, but
it's a shorter flight. The inland route keeps your feet dry and you can stay
lower for sightseeing, but takes about 10-15 minutes longer. Or for variety,
consider one route up and the other back? Your call. Our Webmaster, Chris
Claborne, has both routes on sectional charts on our website:

At IZA, we can get cabs, or pack 8-10 into a rental car, for the 4-5
mile
ride to Solvang. Solvang is an authentic Danish village built in 1911. There
we can buy, or pork out on, boxes of those chocolates and pastries they're
so well known for. Then we might think about brunch. Or maybe have brunch
first. And then there's the wineries... but if you sip the vino, it might be
prudent to spend the night there. The next day is a holiday anyway. Take a

our
Fly-In to Santa Ynez (IZA).
I'll send out a reminder about a week before we depart.
However, this is one of those California months (MAY GRAY followed by
JUNE
GLOOM) where WX may cause us to cancel this fun flight up the coast. If it
does, we will choose an alternate.
